ACTRVGA Club Championships 2025

Posted on: 8 October

Overview

The ACTRVGA Championships is a medley event that consists of two stroke rounds played over consecutive days (Monday 24 November 2025 at Burns Belconnen and Monday 1 December 2025 at Gunghalin Lakes).

There will be three grades (A, B, C) – each grade will receive an equal (or near-equal) proportion of entries – a 33% split. Eligibility for grades will be based on DAILY HANDICAP at the commencement of the first round and this will be fixed for the two rounds of the Championships. Players’ handicaps will be adjusted, as per current arrangements, for the stableford events that are going to be held in conjunction with the championships.

Scoring

All scoring is to be done via the MiScore App.  All players are to record their scores in the usual Stableford manner.  To remain eligible for the Gross/Nett Club Championship, players MUST “Hole Out” on all holes.  Do not record a “P” in the app – enter the total strokes.  If a “P” is recorded, the player will be disqualified from the Gross/Nett Championship but will continue to be eligible for the daily Stableford prizes.

Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf & the Local Rules of Burns Belconnen and Gunghalin Lakes Golf Clubs. Note that Model Local Rule E-5 (Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds) is also in play. This means that instead of going back and playing another shot you may place a new ball within two club lengths on the fairway in close proximity where you estimated the ball went out of bounds or was lost. A 2 stroke penalty will need to be added to the players score for that hole. This is aimed at speeding up the pace of play.

Results & Prizes

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the normal countback process.
Players may accept only one major trophy (& associated prize). Major trophy winners are still eligible to win any number of the daily stableford events. There is no restriction on the winners of any Nearest the Pin (NTP) prizes.

Other Terms

A mobile phone may be carried but should be kept in silent mode. Mobile phones may be used for the purposes of maintaining a player’s score via an App, to access the Rules of Golf or as a distance measuring device. Mobile phones may only be used for emergency calls with the agreement of fellow players.

Motorised transport may be used by players.

Disputes

The ACTRVGA Match Committee, whose decision is final, will settle all disputes.
