Prize Collections

Posted on: 27 February

This note summarises past advice on the operation of the prize register, including how to redeem your prizes, what gift cards are available and the annual cut off for redeeming your prize balance.

The prize register was introduced in May 2025.  As of mid-February 2026 prize redemptions only amounted to just over 30% of prize balances available.

Weekly prizes, including $5 for “ball winners”, are credited to financial members’ accounts the day or so following a competition day.  Prize amounts for “place getters” vary depending on the size of the field.

Prize balances over $20 can be redeemed at any time during the year.

To see how much prize money you have available log in to your MiClub account (using your Vets member number and password) and scroll down to the prizes section.

Prizes are in the form of gift cards for Bunnings, Drummond or the Woolworths Group (Woolworths, Big W, Dan Murphys, BWS or EG (fuel)).

Requests for redemption must be made via email to the Treasurer and/or Captain no later than the Wednesday evening prior to the Monday/ Tuesday round (or you can specify a later date) you wish to collect your gift card(s). Your email needs to specify:

  • the amount you wish to redeem
  • the type of card you’d like
  • when you’d like to pick up your gift card(s)

The Treasurer/ Captain will endeavour to have envelopes with your cards available for collection by the requested date.

The Committee is keen to ensure members claim their hard-earned prizes, but the cumulative prizes also represent a large liability for the Association. Hence, prize balances over $20 not requested by Wednesday 24 June 2026 will lapse on 30 June. Balances of $20 or less and amounts won after the cut off, but prior to 30 June, will rollover to the next financial year.

If you don’t like queues, don’t leave it until the last minute to request/ collect the gift cards.

The Committee reserves the right to “round off” amounts requested to ease the administrative burden (eg if $65 is requested you may receive $60 in cards and $5 would remain in your account).

Prize balances cannot be used to fund annual subscriptions or competition fees.
